Spick and Span

  • Our dedicated housekeeping team and club staff work in tandem to clean and disinfect our clubs  
  • We pay close attention to high-tough surfaces by disinfecting them throughout the day 
  • Protect yourself and others, please disinfect equipment, lockers, and water nozzles before and after use with supplied disinfectant wipes 
  • Certainty disinfectant wipes are available throughout the gym floor, which kill 99.9% of germs, viruses, and fungi from all hard, non-porous surfaces — and they’re also certified by Health Canada. 
  • Our team disinfects the club frequently, focusing on popular equipment and high-touch areas  
  • Personal trainers disinfect all equipment for their clients before and after use
  • High-touch surfaces in the shower areas are disinfected every 75-minute time block  
  • Showers will be thoroughly disinfected nightly with Sabre Disinfectant – rated by Health Canada as effective against COVID-19  
  • Towels are kept at front desk and handed to members with clean hands  
  • The employee working the front desk will sanitize their hands between handing out each towel  
  • Team members who handle used towels wear gloves, and change to a new pair of gloves before handling clean towels
  • Certainty disinfectant wipes are available throughout the gym floor, which kill 99.9% of germs, viruses, and fungi from all hard, non-porous surfaces — and they’re also certified by Health Canada  
  • We use Vert2Go SABER Heavy-Duty Disinfectant and Vert2Go GLASS cleaner in all areas of the club, which are listed as effective against COVID-19 by the Government of Alberta  
  • There are plenty of hand sanitizing and equipment disinfecting stations throughout all areas of the club 

Sweat Safely

Club hours have been temporarily modified

  • Members must wear a mask at all times, except during high-intensity workouts with trainers 
  • All employees are required to wear a mask while working
  • Employees are required to wear proper protective gear while cleaning, including masks and disposable nitrile gloves
  • Self-scan in with your digital scan tag housed in the GYMVMT app or your membership ID tag 
  • Book your workout or class in advance with the GYMVMT app  – this helps guarantee your workout, and helps us monitor capacity 
  • Protective barriers are installed at all reception desks 
  • Self-scan your barcode before entering the club 
  • Keep your private session exercises low intensity. The heavier you’re breathing and the higher your heart rate, the higher the intensity of your workout
  • Exercise at an intensity where you can maintain a conversation. If you’re panting, grunting, screaming, puffing, wheezing, or your heart is pounding in your chest, you need to dial it back 
  • All cardio equipment is spaced 3 metres apart
  • Cardio equipment with fans (like Airdyne bikes and select rowers) are temporarily unavailable
  • Select equipment is unavailable to maintain physical distancing
  • Guiding floor markers have been installed in the clubs
  • Fans have been removed or turned off to reduce the spread of germs
  • All porous foam or fabric material items are removed from workout areas. Items include, but are not limited to:
    • Blue Foam Rollers
    • Yoga Blocks
    • Yoga mats
    • All ropes (cable attachments, battle ropes and climbing ropes)
    • Bags, Tubing
  • Select lockers are open to maintain physical distancing  
  • Showers are open at GYMVMT Calgary Place only with limited availability  
  • Steam rooms and saunas are temporarily unavailable  

BOOK YOUR WORKOUTS IN THE GYMVMT APP

  • Members are required to book workouts and Group Fitness classes in the GYMVMT app  
  • You can book 2 active workouts up to days in advance 
  • One private workout or outdoor class can be booked within rolling 3-day period 
  • Same household workouts can be booked under one member – both members must verify home address 
  • If you’re unable to make it to your Private Workout or Group Fitness class, please cancel in the app at least 1 hour before your scheduled session. Personal training sessions still require 24 hours cancellation notice.  
  • If you have 2 no-shows within 14 days, your booking abilities within the app will be suspended for 2 weeks. You will be notified in the app if your booking is suspended. Members on a booking suspension can still access the clubs by purchasing 1:1 or Team Personal Training sessions.

Group FitnesS

  • Your favourite Group Fitness classes are headed to popular local parks 
  • Group Fitness classes will have a limit of 9 participants, actively led by your instructor 
  • No equipment will be used in classes – body weight only 
  • Classes may be cancelled due to unfavorable weather – at least 3 hours of notice will be given, and cancellation notifications will be sent via email in advance for app bookings. 
  • Members will be spaces 3 metres apart 
  • Secure your spot by booking your class in the GYMVMT app 
  • Plan to arrive 10 minutes before class 
  • If you can’t make your class, please cancel your booking minimum 1 hour before class to allow for someone on the waitlist to attend 

Tennis & Squash

  • Our courts are open for private One-on-One and same-household lessons with our Tennis professionals. 
  • As per provincial guidelines, youth training is permitted with a maximum of 9 people, including coach. Unfortunately, adult group training is not permitted at this time. 
  • Solo and same-household supervised practice are available. 
  • Proof of same residence must be provided for same-household lessons and practice upon check-in. 
  • Solo and ball machine practice are allowed. 
  • All court bookings MUST be made through GameTime, our online court booking system. 
  • Under the current provincial guidelines, tennis games are not permitted at this time. 
  • Our courts are open for private One-on-One and same-household lessons with our Squash professionals. 
  • As per provincial guidelines, youth training is permitted with a maximum of 9 people, including coach. Unfortunately, adult group training is not permitted at this time. 
  • Solo and same-household supervised practice are available.

PWR X LAB classes are on! Most of our clubs are open for fitness!  We have consolidated our operations to select clubs in each city so we can increase club capacities and open more booking spots where there is demand. For club locations and hours, click here. 

We are saddened to share that HER GYMVMT Century Park is now permanently closed. Century Park members can reach out to (780) 468-2722 to inquire about their membership options 

According to the provincial government, all workouts in the club must be accompanied by a professional, certified, and/or paid trainer who is providing active instruction and correction.  

Those who want to hit the club and crush a self-made workout guided by a fitness professional can book a Private Workoutwhich is included in your membership. 

If you would prefer to work out with Personal Trainer who customizes your program for you, you can get Personal Training for just $30 per session until April 30, 2021. Conditions apply. 

 

You book your workout in the app, show up and crush a self-made workout with one of our fitness pros at your side  masked and distanced of course!  

With Private Workouts, our pros won’t build a workout for you but will be making sure you exercise safely by instructing and correcting your exercise formhelping you follow our club guidelines, and motivating you. 

Private workouts must be kept low intensity, are 45-minutes longand are included with every membership. 

 

A fitness professional is a paid GYMVMT or HER GYMVMT employee with in-house training in exercise fundamentals.  

 

Yesmasks are mandatory at all times in our clubs. The only exception is during highintensity workouts with a personal trainer.  

Please note, Private Workouts must be kept to a low intensity and masks are required. 

It’s all about your breath and heart rate. The heavier you’re breathing and the higher your heart rate, the higher the intensity of your workout. Exercise at an intensity where you can maintain a conversation. If you’re panting, grunting, screaming, puffing, wheezing, or your heart is pounding in your chest, you need to dial it back. 

We recommend using lighter weights or adding some resistance when you hit the cardio machines for a solid, steady “low intensity” workout. If you have any questions about low intensity workoutsfeel free to ask us by completing this form.

Please use your best judgement to keep your workout low intensity — we know that this doesn’t look the same for everyone and depends on where you’re at in your fitness journey. If you’re breathing too heavy, that’s a sign you need to bring it down a notch. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask our staff any questions you may have.

Make sure you set a reminder! Booking opens at 9:00 p.m. every night. You can book 2 active workouts up to 7 days in advance 

Booking availabilities will increase based on workout and class attendance, within the current government restrictions for capacity.

Booking hack: Set a reminder for your desires workout or class slot by navigating to it and  selecting “FOLLOW.” Boom, now you’ll get a notification when the spot opens! 

Simple steps to get you started: 

  1. Download the GYMVMT app in the app store 
  2. Our app is a member-exclusive portal which means the email you use to log in must match the email we have in our system. If you’re unsure which email that is or you are not able to book your workout, please email [email protected]. 
  3. If you are a new member, our system automatically created an account in the app for you. Check your inbox for an enrolment email from MyWellness cloud (don’t forget to check your junk mail folder).

To help us monitor capacity, you’re able to make 2 active bookings every 7 days. One booking is equivalent to either 1 Private Workout or 1 Group Fitness class. 

If you’re craving more fitness classesadd GYMVMT GO to your active membership for as low as $9.95 bi-weekly to stream unlimited fitness classes. 

In order to help us monitor club capacity and ensure every member gets a workout in, bookings are limited to 2 active workouts every 7 days 

If you have a multi-club membership you can absolutely book at multiple locations. Please note, you can make 2 active booking every 7 days. 

When a member cancels their workout, everyone on the waitlist will receive a notification. The first person to reserve the spot will get the class or workout time. Please cancel your workout or class at least one hour in advance so those on the waitlist can attend. 

Personal Training and Team Training requir24 hours’ notice to cancel.  

 Private Workouts and Group Fitness cancellations require 1 hour notice

Absolutely, our doors are always open to new members! Head to the link in our bio and select “NEW MEMBER OFFER” for a wicked deal on your new membership. Oh, and welcome to the club! 

  • We have temporarily adjusted club hours and will revisit returning to regular hours when it is safe to do so. You can find your club’s hours on our locations pages. 
  • Don’t sweat it, your workout block is booked for 75 minutes. If you plan to arrive outside of your 75-minute block, please call your club’s reception team and they’ll extend your workout if we have capacity.  
     
  • If you’re running late for your Personal Training session, reach out to your trainer directly or call the club to let them know. 
  • Contact your personal trainer directly. If you do not have their contact information, please contact the club your session is scheduled at.  
  • We’re working with a smaller team than usual. If your personal trainer has not been recalled yet, we’d be happy to temporarily set you up with another trainer for in-club sessions, remote sessions, or both! 
  • Speak to your club’s General Manager or Fitness Manager to make arrangements.
  • Book an appointment to come check out the club! You don’t need to work out, just book a tour to get familiar with our safety protocols gauge your comfort level of returning to the gym.  
     
  • If you’re still hesitant, try out our remote fitness options — designed to help you stay active anytime, anywhere. 
     
  • If youre not ready to keep moving with us, contact your club to discuss your billing and membership options – including account freezes.  
  • Due to government regulations, we can’t accept walk-ins at this time.   
  • If your schedule isn’t very flexible, you can book your workout in the GYMVMT app 5 minutes before a workout slot begins or call reception to see if you can book a last-minute workout.
