On Friday, April 23, 2021, International Fitness Holdings Inc. (IFH) and affiliated entities signed an asset purchase agreement with a potential buyer and filed a Notice of Intention to File a Proposal pursuant to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
As we forge forward with a smaller club footprint in our recovery from the impacts of the pandemic, it is with heavy hearts that we close our chapters at the following locations:
We made these decisions on our new footprint based on negotiations with our landlords and the long-term financial viability of each location.
We have been able to reach new lease agreements with the landlords of the 14 clubs that will remain open, who have worked with us to reach sustainable agreements that are right-sized for today’s economic conditions. We extend a gracious thank-you to those landlords for the role they are playing in keeping these clubs open so Albertans can work out with us into the future.
We were not able to reach a mutual agreement with our landlords at the 7 closing locations that were financially viable for the business long term. We also thank our landlords at these negotiations for their efforts and understanding during this process.
If you have a single-club membership, your home club will be automatically transferred to a nearby location, which you can then change to your club of choice by filling out the form on this page.
If you have a multi-club membership can work out at any other GYMVMT, HER GYMVMT or ClubFit (Edmonton) location without making changes to your account.
We are excited to share that we will be reopening our doors at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18!
We are just as eager as you must be to get back to the gym again, and although it makes the wait a bit longer, this date allows us to make sure we are fully operational after the sale of our business, which will be officially completed that same day. That includes bringing Albertans back to work under the new entity, making sure the clubs are spick and span, and ensuring our teams are ready to welcome you back.
Billing will be automatically on the day we reopen, and will be pro-rated to June 18.
