Reopening june 26

This is the place to be for everything you need to know about our reopening plan.


We’ve made changes to help you have a safe workout:

Practice safe physical fitness-ing by staying 2 metres apart.

You can look but don’t touch! Some exercise equipment and lockers are closed to maintain physical distancing.

  • Go with the flow! We’ve added directional arrows to club floors to help guide foot traffic — consider it extra cardio.
  • Make sure to wait until we check you in at reception before entering the club.

Masks and gloves aren’t required in the gym but are encouraged upon exit and entry of the club. Employees will be wearing masks, except for when they’re working a sweat.

Keep it clean, disinfect equipment BEFORE and AFTER use. Failure to clean equipment will result in burpees.


Book your workout with the GYMVMT app.

Booking your workouts in advance helps us monitor club capacity and ensure a safe workout experience.

  1. Download the GYMVMT app and follow the prompts
  2. Members should have received an email from “mywellness” to complete registration. If you didn’t receive it, make sure to check your junk folder. For further assistance, please email [email protected]
  3. Login to your account
  4. Select your club
  5. Under your workout select “Book Workout” 
  6. Select your gym or class time
  • In order to book, please make sure you have the latest app update.
  • A reminder notification will be sent 15 mins before the end of your gym/ class time.
  • Download the GYMVMT app in the Apple store or Google Play and start booking your workouts today!

When you book a workout through our app, you’ll be able to see who else is working out with you. To make your profile private:

  • Open the GYMVMT app
  • Click on your profile (at the bottom right corner)
  • Click “edit profile”
  • Click “profile preferences”
  • Toggle off “visibility settings”
  • As a member, you can book your workouts up to 7 days in advance or as late as 5 minutes prior to coming in.
  • One appointment per day
  • Pre-book up to three workouts at a time

Need more time? We’re happy to extend your workout, as long as we have capacity. Just check with reception 15 minutes before the end of your workout and we’ll be happy to extend your appointment.

Workouts booked in advance are guaranteed. We are happy to accept walk-ins, however you may have to wait dependent on club capacity.


  • Cardio equipment are placed 3 metres apart. Select equipment are unavailable to maintain physical distancing. 
  • We’re your biggest fans! All other fans have been removed or turned off to reduce the spread of germs
  • All porous foam or fabric material items are removed from workout areas. Items include, but are not limited to:
    • Blue Foam Rollers
    • Yoga Blocks 
    • Yoga mats
    • All ropes (cable attachments, battle ropes and climbing ropes)
    • Bags, Tubing
  • BYOB: Bring your own bottle. Drinking fountains are closed. Water coolers and filling stations are available to fill up your water bottles. Please disinfect before and after use.
  • Select lockers are unavailable to maintain physical distancing. We encourage you show up in your gear.
  • It’s okay to be a hot mess. All showers, steam rooms and saunas are temporarily closed.
  • Towel service is temporarily unavailable.
  • Amenities such as hair tools, Q-tips, and cotton rounds will be unavailable to avoid common touch points

    • Please stay on your designated mark throughout the entirety of the class.

  • Tru Ride will not be available upon reopening, but traditional cycle will be at our North Hill and Midnapore locations in Calgary, and Kensington and Gateway in Edmonton. For our Tru Fam, enjoy your rhythm ride workout with your favourite instructors until our Tru Ride studios reopen. Speak to your manager for your membership options.
  • Members with a multi-club +1 membership are invited to take cycle classes as part of their membership
  • Edgemont Tennis and Squash courts are open
  • Court access must be booked through the GameTime app so we can monitor club capacity. Members will also need to book a workout session for access to the club.
  • Select courts will be temporarily closed

Spick and Span

Get ready for a whole new level of clean. We’ve rollout out a bunch of new cleaning and sanitization procedures to help ensure the safety of our employees, members, and guests.

We’ve upgraded to Certainty disinfectant wipes at all locations, which kill 99.9% of germs, viruses, and fungi from all hard, non-porous surfaces. They’re also certified by Health Canada.

  • All of our clubs have been disinfected with AEGIS MICROBE SHEILD – allowing all treated surfaces to protect themselves against the contamination of microbes such as coronavirus.
  • We’ll also be ‘safe cleaning,’ which means frequently wiping down high-touch surfaces such as check-in desks and door handles.

We’ve installed more hand sanitizer stations throughout all clubs.

Plexiglass shields have been added to our reception desks for an extra layer of security.

The best of both worlds! 

Pumped to get back into the club but want the option to keep moving at home with GYMVMT GO?

  • Members who enrolled in a GYMVMT GO subscription on or before June 25, 2020 and choose to keep both their in-club and remote memberships will receive GYMVMT GO for only $9.95 bi-weekly.
  • Members who converted their in-club membership to GYMVMT GO can opt to keep GYMVMT GO for the same great rate of $9.95 when bundled with their in-club membership.
  • If you aren’t quite ready to come back yet and are enjoying your current GO subscription, you can continue that service and freeze your in club dues until October 1. Just let us know by filling out the form on this page.  

We’re keeping all of our remote options available, so you can keep sweating with your favourite instructors and trainers wherever your heart desires. The Wi-Fi is the limit!

If you want to keep your in-club membership on freeze while remotely breaking a sweat, we’re  happy to extend your in-club membership freeze until October 1, 2020 at no additional cost.

Your credits will automatically be applied to your account on June 26. From there, you will have the option to use your credits towards in-club monthly dues or remote fitness options.



If you’re not ready (or able) to return to the gym and our remote options aren’t your forte, you have options:

  • If you would like to extend your account freeze and are on a month-to-month or out-of-term membership, you can do so for up to one-year for the cost of one bi-weekly payment.
  • Let’s break this down: For example, if you pay $30 bi-weekly for your dues, you can extend your account freeze for up to one year for only $30.
  • If you are within the term of your membership contract, you’re welcome to continue your freeze until October 1, 2020 for the cost of one bi-weekly payment. This is a limited time offer.
  • If you are over 65, we’re happy to continue your account freeze (upon request) until October 1, 2020 at no additional cost. Please contact [email protected] to continue your account freeze.
  • No gym? No problem! Keep you moving from anywhere, just ask us about our remote fitness options.
  • If you have a medical condition or concern, simply provide a doctor’s note and we’ll extend the freeze continuation plan for as long as the doctor’s note indicates.

We’re reopening all of our locations on June 26! We’ve been working extra hard to get our clubs to a whole new level of clean. We’ll be ready to help you have the workout of your life as of 5:00 a.m., June 26. Until then, keep breaking a sweat with GYMVMT GO and our Instagram and Facebook Live classes!

Yes. In order to meet physical distance guidelines set out by the Government of Alberta, we’ll be using our GYMVMT app to schedule workouts and monitor our club capacities. Not already using the app? Download the GYMVMT app in the Apple store or Google Play. Please click here to learn more on how to book. 

When we reopen, we’ll have limited club capacity. This means that we’ll be working with a smaller team than usual, and your personal trainer may not be back at the club as of June 26. If you’re interested in training, we’d be happy to temporarily set you up with another trainer or help you get started with remote sessions. Speak to your club’s General Manager or Fitness Manager to make arrangements.

Membership freezes will be lifted when we reopen on June 26, so start booking your workouts now!
